Bush does not have a towering intellect, and chances are, he&#8217;s not a student of history. But even with appreciation for Bush&#8217;s limited knowledge, some things are beyond the pale.<\/p>\n<p>From yesterday&#8217;s Llyod Grove&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/gossip\/story\/153985p-135485c.html\">column in the NY Daily News<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><i>He didn&#8217;t free the slaves.<\/p>\n<p>He didn&#8217;t rid the world of Hitler. <\/p>\n<p>He didn&#8217;t even &#8212; like his father &#8212; preside over the destruction of the Berlin Wall. <\/p>\n<p>Yet George W. Bush tells New Yorker writer Ken Auletta: &#8220;No President has ever done more for human rights than I have.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>With stunners like that, no wonder he spends so little time with journalists. <\/i><\/p>\n<p>Arrogance fueled by merit is irritating; arrogance fueled by delusion is just bizarre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I realize that George W.
