President Bush will be heading to Nebraska later this week as part of a continuing effort to fool as many people as possible into believing his administration has a plan to create jobs and spur economic growth.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, however, over 300 factory workers will lose all or part of a day’s pay as a result of Bush’s trip.<\/p>\n
Airlite Plastics Company in Omaha will serve as the backdrop for Bush’s swing through Nebraska, presumably to try and pressure Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) into voting for the administration’s tax cut plan. Because the factory will shut down during Bush’s visit, the president of the company said workers won’t get paid<\/a>, though they will have the option of working over the weekend to make up for the missed time.<\/p>\n A White House spokesperson told the Washington Post that they had no comment on the workers’ lost wages but said Bush was looking forward to talking to Nebraskans about his plan to “put money in their pockets.”<\/p>\n It’s great to see that irony is alive and well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" President Bush will be heading to Nebraska later this week as part of a continuing effort to fool as many people as possible into believing his administration has a plan to create jobs and spur economic growth.
