Superintendent Kathy Cox has dropped her controversial plan and has agreed to let the word, which she dismissed as a &#8220;buzzword&#8221; last week, remain.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I will recommend to the teacher teams that the word &#8216;evolution&#8217; be put back in the curriculum,&#8221; Cox said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>This is good news, of course, but there&#8217;s been no word yet on whether Cox will continue to pursue her agenda of adding other creationist materials to the state curriculum.
