And the most objective sources I have are people on my staff who tell me what&#8217;s happening in the world.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Laura Bush, in a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2004\/02\/06\/politics\/07LAUR-TEXT.html\">New York Times interview<\/a> published over the weekend:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;[The president] does read the papers, of course,&#8221; Mrs. Bush said, adding that she and her husband make their way through five national newspapers over coffee in bed and then at the breakfast table each day. &#8220;I mean we&#8217;ve read the newspapers for years.
