MediBribe? BribeCare? Bribe &#038; Gloom?<\/p>\n<p>In any event, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rollcall.com\/pub\/1_1\/breakingnews\/4923-1.html\">House Ethics Committee announced yesterday<\/a> that Reps. Kenny Hulshof (R-Mo.) and Mike Doyle (D-Pa.), both relative moderates, will head up a bi-partisan investigative subcommittee to explore who <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/articles\/A40033-2003Dec29.html\">offered Rep. Nick Smith (R-Mich.) a bribe<\/a> on the House floor in exchange for his support for Bush&#8217;s Medicare bill.<\/p>\n<p>Joining Hulshof and Doyle on the subcommittee will be John Shadegg (R-Ariz.), and William Delahunt (D-Mass.).<\/p>\n<p>This is all routine. These four lawmakers will start a three-month fact-finding investigation. In June, they&#8217;ll report to the full committee, which will in turn conduct its own review of the controversy.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t have any startling details to add to this, but wanted to mention it for those of you who have been following this scandal closely.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m still thinking about what to call this one.
