Asked if he will be asked at some point, Bayh said, &#8220;I have no idea. You&#8217;d have to ask him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>* Last month, the Obama campaign announced it would spend $5 million on TV ads during the Olympics. Yesterday, the McCain campaign announced it would <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/washwire\/2008\/08\/05\/mccain-takes-gold-against-obama-in-olympic-ad-buy\/\">spend $6 million<\/a> on Olympics ads.<\/p>\n<p>* Last week, the McCain campaign insisted Obama had flip-flopped on coastal drilling. Today, the McCain campaign insisted Obama <a href=\"http:\/\/tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com\/2008\/08\/mccains_new_attack_line_obama.php\"><i>hasn&#8217;t<\/i> flip-flopped<\/a> on coastal drilling. Obama&#8217;s position hasn&#8217;t changed over the last week, but McCain&#8217;s bizarre rhetoric has.<\/p>\n<p>* The latest Pew Forum poll shows a lot of Americans believing that they&#8217;re <a href=\"http:\/\/people-press.org\/report\/441\/obama-fatigue\">hearing too much about Obama<\/a> in this campaign, and want to hear more about McCain.<\/p>\n<p>* The latest Associated Press-Ipsos national poll shows Obama leading McCain <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/ap\/20080805\/ap_on_el_pr\/presidential_race_ap_poll;_ylt=ArUpxTwLnD9bGOq_m6o4_16s0NUE\">by six<\/a>, 47% to 41%.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n* A new Elway Poll shows Obama leading McCain <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com\/seattlepolitics\/archives\/145212.asp\">in Washington state<\/a> by 12, 47% to 35%.<\/p>\n<p>* Public Policy Polling (D) shows McCain leading Obama <a href=\"http:\/\/tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com\/2008\/08\/poll_mccain_retakes_lead_in_fl.php\">in Florida<\/a>, 47% to 44%.<\/p>\n<p>* At a town-hall meeting in Youngstown, Ohio, Obama <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2008\/08\/05\/obama-mccains-not-running_n_117014.html\">shared his perspective<\/a> on the McCain campaign: &#8220;When John McCain gets up there and says I&#8217;d rather win an election than win a war. When he says I didn&#8217;t visit the troops when I was overseas, even though every media outlet says that&#8217;s just not true&#8230; [It suggests] you are not trying to solve problems. All you are trying to do is divide people so you can win an election. That is nothing to be proud of. Let&#8217;s have a real honest debate about policies that are going to make a difference in people&#8217;s lives.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>* Hillary Clinton <a href=\"http:\/\/politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com\/2008\/08\/05\/hillary-clinton-to-campaign-for-obama\/\">will host<\/a> a rally and voter registration drive for Obama in Nevada on August 8, and another in Florida on August 21.<\/p>\n<p>* DNC unveils <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thenextcheney.com\/\">The Next Cheney<\/a>. They did a great job on this.<\/p>\n<p>* I don&#8217;t expect Kentucky to turn blue anytime soon, but voter registration numbers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politicalbase.com\/profile\/Mark%20Nickolas\/blog\/&#038;blogId=2993\">look encouraging<\/a> for the long-term.<\/p>\n<p>* <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nwlc.org\/details.cfm?id=3323&#038;section=infocenter\">Interesting new poll<\/a>: &#8220;According to a recent poll by the National Women&#8217;s Law Center, women feel the impact of economic insecurity and rising food, energy, education, and health care costs more deeply than men \u2013 and see government as a key to the solution.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>* And the official schedule was released yesterday by the Commission on Presidential Debates.
