The deadline is next month, when the far-right party holds <a href=\"http:\/\/www.constitutionparty.com\/convention\/2004.php\">its nominating convention<\/a> in Pennsylvania. By all indications, Moore won&#8217;t jump in.<\/p>\n<p>But that is not to say that he&#8217;s keeping a low profile. Over the weekend, Moore <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adn.com\/alaska\/story\/5107774p-5034668c.html\">traveled to Alaska<\/a> and was greeted with a hero&#8217;s welcome among the state&#8217;s most conservative activists.<\/p>\n<p>The good news, for those of us looking for a far-right Nader, is that Moore is still flirting with the idea of a campaign. Asked if he might run for elective office, Moore said, &#8220;Maybe sometime.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The bad news, again from my perspective, was that he spoke to the 2004 Republican state convention. If he was seriously considering a Constitution Party bid, he&#8217;d be distancing himself formally of the GOP, not addressing its conventions.<\/p>\n<p>My hunch is this is a lost cause. Moore probably won&#8217;t run this year.
