{"id":312,"date":"2003-02-27T07:25:39","date_gmt":"2003-02-27T12:25:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com\/archives\/312.html"},"modified":"2003-02-27T07:25:39","modified_gmt":"2003-02-27T12:25:39","slug":"someone-get-this-man-a-dictionary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stevebenen.com\/thecarpetbaggerreport\/someone-get-this-man-a-dictionary\/","title":{"rendered":"Someone get this man a dictionary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Making fun of the president for his malapropisms <a href=\"http:\/\/slate.msn.com\/id\/76886\/\">has been done by better researchers than me<\/a>, but I noticed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/articles\/A8490-2003Feb26.html\">a fun one in this morning&#8217;s Washington Post<\/a> that I can&#8217;t resist bringing to your attention.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to a group called the Latino Coalition, Bush was chastising Senate Democrats for filibustering Miguel Estrada&#8217;s nomination to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and told his audience that he would &#8220;stand by that man&#8217;s side until he is sworn in as a judge.&#8221; No, that&#8217;s not the funny part.<\/p>\n<p>He added, &#8220;Some Democrats in the Senate are flaunting the intention of the United States Constitution and the tradition of the United States Senate, itself.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><i>Flaunting<\/i> the Constitution and the Senate? Isn&#8217;t that a good thing? Shouldn&#8217;t our laws and institutions be flaunted?
