They have been brought from all over the world, wherever they&#8217;re not needed, to a place here where they are needed. I&#8217;m told that they are being &#8212; the Army is &#8212; I think it&#8217;s something like 400 a month are being done. And it&#8217;s essentially a matter of physics. <i>It isn&#8217;t a matter of money<\/i>.&#8221; (emphasis added)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/articles\/A59924-2004Dec12.html\">A front-page Washington Post story<\/a> today on an Army repair depot in Texas that has several hundred damaged Humvees sitting around waiting to be repaired:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>An additional 224 damaged Humvees recently arrived at Red River from the 4th Infantry Division. Depot officials insist they can keep pace&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>But for now, the real bottleneck may lie in Washington. Those 4th Infantry Humvees will sit until the Army has the money.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;d like to produce them all today so the soldiers have their equipment,&#8221; Lewis said. &#8220;But&#8230;the reality is, <i>there isn&#8217;t the funding<\/i>.&#8221; (emphasis added)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Donald Rumsfeld, last week: &#8220;I talked to the General coming out here about the pace at which the vehicles are being armored.
