It was scheduled for last week, as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com\/2003_06_22_archive.htm#105637798773437456\">I said<\/a> last Monday, but it was delayed. (The delays had more to do with a busy schedule and nothing to do with the merit of Pryor&#8217;s nomination.)<\/p>\n<p>Since Congress isn&#8217;t in session this week &#8212; they take off the whole week to celebrate the Fourth of July &#8212; the earliest they could vote is next week. I&#8217;ll keep everyone posted.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and just to add to the list, the LA Times is the latest in a long line of newspapers to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/news\/opinion\/editorials\/la-ed-pryor30jun30,1,3216203.story?coll=la-news-comment-editorials\">publish an editorial<\/a> encouraging the Senate to reject Pryor&#8217;s nomination.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At this month&#8217;s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, [Pryor] defended &#8212; even amplified on &#8212; his disturbing views,&#8221; the Times&#8217; editorial board said. &#8220;His candor is refreshing but it leaves squirming senators no cover.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Times added, &#8220;These views and Pryor&#8217;s lack of judicial experience caused the American Bar Assn. to splinter over his fitness for the appeals seat.
