Ever?<\/p>\n<p>When given an intelligence briefing that told him, &#8220;Bin Laden Determined To Strike in US,&#8221; Bush barely blinked and decided <a href=\"http:\/\/slate.msn.com\/id\/2098861\/\">not to cut short<\/a> his month-long vacation.<\/p>\n<p>When told on 9\/11 that the nation is under attack, Bush <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/articles\/A47734-2004Jul13.html\">read &#8220;My Pet Goat&#8221; for seven minutes<\/a>, before hiding for the rest of the day.<\/p>\n<p>When the war in Iraq began and &#8220;shock and awe&#8221; got underway, Bush <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com\/archives\/000255.html\">left town<\/a> for an uninterrupted break at Camp David.<\/p>\n<p>When the world was rallying to help South Asia after a tsunami devastated the region and killed tens of thousands, Bush, a full three days after the crisis began, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/articles\/A35249-2004Dec29.html\">rode his bike and cleared brush<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And when Hurricane Katrina was ravaging the Gulf Coast, Bush hesitated for days and <a href=\"http:\/\/search.news.yahoo.com\/search\/news\/?p=bush+guitar&#038;c=news_photos\">pretended to play some guitar<\/a> before surveying the damage &#8212; from a few thousand feet.<\/p>\n<p>I realize that not everyone responds well to pressure. Faced with a crisis, some people&#8217;s &#8220;fight or flight&#8221; instincts are unhelpful.
