Carpetbagger regular Chief Osceola has alerted me to some pretty good news — Bush’s latest poll numbers.<\/p>\n

Zogby International, whose polls I usually find pretty reliable, released its latest data<\/a> today and it’s not good news for the White House. Bush’s approval rating has fallen to 52%, which is the lowest rating Bush has received from Zogby since August 2001.<\/p>\n

In fact, the Zogby report was chock-full of good news. When respondents were asked if Bush should be re-elected or whether they think it’s “time for someone new in the White House,” 45% said Bush should get a second term, while 48% said they want someone else. This is the best result on this question Zogby has found during Bush’s presidency.<\/p>\n

This is very<\/i> encouraging. If the approval rating drops below 50%, and it’s almost there, we’ll see a lot of Republicans starting to sweat. Even at 52%, it’s awfully difficult for Bush’s sycophants to keep using the “incredibly popular” line that was in vogue for the months following 9\/11.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
