Senate campaign endured a “staff revolt” over the weekend, with lead strategist Ed Rollins, campaign manager Jamie Miller, and spokeswoman Morgan Dobbs all moving on. Florida Today reported, “[Harris] had the best people in the country. This is a campaign that is spiraling downward by the minute and the smartest thing for her to do would be to get out of the race.”

* The latest Rasmussen poll in New Jersey, which has been back-and-forth for months, shows State Sen. Tom Kean, Jr. (R) inching back into the lead over Sen. Robert Menendez. The poll showed Kean up by two points, 41% to 39%.

* In Washington state, a poll from Strategic Vision, a GOP pollster, shows Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-WA) leading businessman Mike McGavick in the state’s Senate race this year, 49% to 39%. Rod Blagojevich (D) has a pretty serious problem on his hands. With the primaries out of the way, Rasmussen shows state Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka (R) inching ahead of the incumbent, 43% to 41%.

* And in Ohio, Rep. In the latest Rasmussen poll, Strickland has double-digit leads over both of his GOP rivals, Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell (50% to 40%) and state Attorney General Jim Petro (47% to 34%).

Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that wouldn’t generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers: * Rep.
