{"id":7607,"date":"2006-06-06T12:32:55","date_gmt":"2006-06-06T16:32:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com\/?p=7607"},"modified":"2006-06-06T12:32:55","modified_gmt":"2006-06-06T16:32:55","slug":"coulter-blasts-grieving-911-widows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stevebenen.com\/thecarpetbaggerreport\/coulter-blasts-grieving-911-widows\/","title":{"rendered":"Coulter blasts grieving 9\/11 widows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I realize [tag]Ann Coulter[\/tag] is more circus clown that political pundit, but I have to wonder what kind of person lashes out at [tag]9\/11[\/tag] [tag]widows[\/tag].<\/p>\n<p>Think Progress <a href=\"http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/2006\/06\/06\/coulter-911\/\">noted<\/a> that in Coulter&#8217;s new book, &#8220;[tag]Godless[\/tag],&#8221; [tag]Coulter[\/tag] describes widows who lost loved ones in the attacks like this: &#8220;These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzies. I have never seen people enjoying their husbands&#8217; death so much.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This morning, on the Today show, Matt Lauer asked Coulter to explain the description.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Lauer: [You criticize them] because they dare to speak out?<\/p>\n<p>Coulter: To speak out using the fact they are widows. This is the left&#8217;s doctrine of infallibility. If they have a point to make about the 9-11 commission, about how to fight the war on terrorism, how about sending in somebody we are allowed to respond to. No. No. No. We have to respond to someone who had a family member die. Because then if we respond, oh you are questioning their authenticity.<\/p>\n<p>Lauer: So grieve but grieve quietly?<\/p>\n<p>Coulter: No, the story is an attack on the nation. That requires a foreign policy response. [&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>Lauer: What I&#8217;m saying is I don&#8217;t think they have ever told you, you can&#8217;t respond.<\/p>\n<p>Coulter: Look, you are getting testy with me.<\/p>\n<p>Lauer: No. I think it&#8217;s a dramatic statement: &#8220;These broads are millionaires stalked by stalked by griefparrazies? I have never seen people enjoying their husband&#8217;s deaths so much.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Coulter: Yes, they are all over the news.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s just hard to fathom someone seriously making this argument, in public, on national television, but <a href=\"http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/2006\/06\/06\/coulter-911\/\">there it was<\/a>.
