(Thanks to Geoff for the tip.)<\/p>\n<p>* The AP and the O&#8217;Reilly Factor both made mistakes on Wednesday and identified Mark Foley as a Democrat. Can you guess <a href=\"http:\/\/www.editorandpublisher.com\/eandp\/news\/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003221594\">which of the two<\/a> ran a correction?<\/p>\n<p>* Note to Republican candidates everywhere: if you use Hurricane Katrina as a positive example of government in action, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mydd.com\/story\/2006\/10\/5\/195955\/008\">voters <i>will<\/i> laugh at you<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>* When conservative Republicans <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com\/archives\/8638.html\">move away<\/a> from Dennis Hastert, and Sen. Joe Lieberman (I) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.courant.com\/news\/politics\/hc-senate1005.artoct05,0,5467271.story?page=2\">moves <i>closer<\/i><\/a> to Hastert, you know there&#8217;s a problem.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n* <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbpp.org\/10-6-06inc.htm\">Worst&#8230;recovery&#8230;ever<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>* I knew the Department of Homeland Security was still having some trouble with the no-fly list, but <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/americas\/5413462.stm\">this is ridiculous<\/a>. (Thanks to E.T. for the tip.)<\/p>\n<p>* It&#8217;s wrong to negotiate with terrorists, but if Mike Gallagher stopped those bastards from protesting the funerals of the five Amish girls killed on Monday, it was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2006\/10\/06\/us\/06radio.html\">probably worth it<\/a> to give them 55 minutes of airtime.<\/p>\n<p>* The Foley scandal certainly is generating some <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/ap\/20061006\/ap_on_el_ho\/campaign_ad_foley;_ylt=Au0pKzs5QnAkXl4L4bRlDxGs0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA3OXIzMDMzBHNlYwM3MDM-\">interesting campaign advertising<\/a> strategies.<\/p>\n<p>* John Cole considers the president&#8217;s 2000 campaign promises and compares them to reality. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.balloon-juice.com\/?p=7429\">It ain&#8217;t pretty<\/a>.
