Dems on the Hill don&#8217;t want to impeach Bush; there wouldn&#8217;t be enough votes in the Senate to convict anyway; and Republican seem borderline-obsessed with the notion that this is a salient campaign issue for them in the midterms.<\/p>\n<p>That said, I found this little tidbit towards the end of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/15357623\/site\/newsweek\/\">latest Newsweek poll<\/a> interesting.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Other parts of a potential Democratic agenda receive less support, especially calls to impeach Bush: 47 percent of Democrats say that should be a &#8220;top priority,&#8221; but only 28 percent of all Americans say it should be, 23 percent say it should be a lower priority and nearly half, 44 percent, say it should not be done.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Wait, more than one in four Americans believe impeachment should be a &#8220;top priority&#8221;? If you include those who believe it should be a lower priority, but nevertheless seem to conclude impeachment should be on the table, we&#8217;re looking at a combined 51%, which the last time I checked, is a majority. Is it me, or is that a lot?<\/p>\n<p>Just to be clear, I realize impeachment isn&#8217;t going to happen.
