{"id":941,"date":"2003-12-12T10:21:17","date_gmt":"2003-12-12T15:21:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com\/archives\/941.html"},"modified":"2003-12-12T10:21:17","modified_gmt":"2003-12-12T15:21:17","slug":"gop-fat-cat-donors-could-get-around-2k-limit-by-giving-to-nader","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stevebenen.com\/thecarpetbaggerreport\/gop-fat-cat-donors-could-get-around-2k-limit-by-giving-to-nader\/","title":{"rendered":"GOP fat-cat donors could get around $2k limit by giving to Nader"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ralph Nader (I-Fantasy Land) is following up rumors about his pending 2004 candidacy with interviews hinting that he will, in fact, run.<\/p>\n<p>On <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2003\/ALLPOLITICS\/12\/11\/elec04.prez.nader.2004\/index.html\">CNN yesterday<\/a>, Nader sounded like a candidate. &#8220;We&#8217;re testing the waters,&#8221; Nader said. &#8220;It&#8217;s a high probability, but that is yet to be determined.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Noting that Nader has already formed an exploratory committee, CNN reported that Nader&#8217;s decision as to whether or not to run would be gauged the &#8220;success of [his] fund-raising efforts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This, of course, leads to me to believe that Bush&#8217;s campaign team will have an exciting new opportunity for their numerous wealthy donors: give lots of money to Nader.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, Bush&#8217;s fat cats have already maxed out for this campaign cycle, giving the maximum $2,000.
