Why Edwards and Obama have the good sense to avoid Fox News

About two weeks ago, Fox News’ Chris Wallace was incredulous about John Edwards’ and Barack Obama’s decision to steer clear of Fox News. Last week, Wallace was at it again, complaining to viewers that the two Dems just won’t accept his invitations.

Today, Brave New Films offers the Republican network a helpful hint as to why Edwards and Obama have the good sense to avoid Fox News.

It seems pretty simple. I wonder why Wallace seems so confused.

Fox has reported. Now it’s up to the rest of us to decide.

  • BOOO!
That video is a complete distortion of a lot of the commentators words-2 second clips taken from new stories. The one where Coulter calls Edwards a “f” isn’t even on Fox News and she was brought on O’Reilly’s show and he challenged her for why she would say such things, both on his radio show and on his TV show.

Hypothetically, if all those things were smears, (which they aren’t, it’s just another Media Matters lie) why wouldn’t the candidates go on to repudiate them?

Because they are cowards, that’s why.

  • Scott, Just watching that video could make you suspect in the eyes of your right-wing associates. If I were you, I wouldn’t be leaving messages at a site such as this one…..

  • It’s a relief, Scottie Boy, to know there are still a few patriotic Americans like you left, going to the wall to defend the rights of “journalists” to call someone “pinhead” and propagate the repeatedly-debunked nonsense that Barack Obama was educated in a madrassa.

The candidates will not appear on Fox News because to do so would hurt their campaigns. The candidates are bound by the rules of polite conduct and good manners – labouring under no such constraints, the journo-pugilists at Fox News will simply spend the hour, or whatever, mocking them and suggesting everything they say is a lie. There would be no “news” value to it whatever. If I could show you a videotape of a journalist saying “Scott? He’s an asshole. He’s a phony, you can’t believe a word that comes out of his mouth”, would you subsequently agree to be interviewed by that journalist on national television? Why? You already have a pretty good idea how the interview is going to go.

Bill O’Reilly has no right to call anyone a pinhead after getting caught in print wishing he was a loofah. Apparently he’s beginning to get his wish; his head is becoming airy and spongelike.

  • Neither candidate should go on FAUX news for any reason. I would lose all respect for them if they did. I watched the collection of sound bites and no sane person would go on and get the same.

  • Boycotting a rusty pail of stale howler-monkey vomit that fraudulently promotes itself as a news network is not boycotting a news network.

It is merely the boycotting of a rusty pail of stale howler-monkey vomit.

The only creature on the planet that might even conceivably entertain spending time in close proximity to a rusty pail of stale howler-monkey vomit is a hyena.

Thus, through the scientific method of deductive reasoning, we find that Barack Obama and John Edwards are not hyenas. However, the evidence suggests that we cannot say the same thing about Chris Wallace, who has apparently developed an acute culinary addiction to corroded containers of regurgitated simian-chow—hence, his affection for FOX….

  • Here’s the link from the end of the Brave New Films video to express your support for Edwards and Obama’s decision to tell Fox News “No.

  • Actually, it makes no sense for a Democratic candidate during primary/caucus season, when they are trying to connect with Democrats and to make his or her case to Democrats, to go on FOX news. It would be a waste of time and effort. FOX is known to be a GOP network and Democrats do not watch it.
Case in point: Outside of O’Reilly and Hannity, I didn’t have any idea who the rest of those talking heads were.

  • Why is Hillary not included? Could it be that she is in bed with Rupert Murdoch so he only makes an issue of her rivals. Has Hillary boycotted Fox News as well, no? I hope that when Edwards and Obama are elected that they continue to boycott Fox news.

  • Steve said: ‘The only creature on the planet that might even conceivably entertain spending time in close proximity to a rusty pail of stale howler-monkey vomit is a hyena.’

    WRONG WRONG WRONG!

There are any number of creatures that would climb right into said bucket. Maggots and rats, for instance.

Maggots and rats, however, will not move an inch to watch Fox News.

  • that’s pretty funny that hillary would steer clear, since as glenn linked to yesterday, she’s gotten some cash from them. a decent amount, too.

compare to obama’s contributions from harvard and berkeley.

  • “Fair and Balanced”? R-i-i-i-i-i-ght. In the same way that War Is Peace, Freedom Is Slavery, and Ignorance Is Strength…

Don’t feed the trolls…and don’t feed the Fox right-wing smear machine either!
