Well, not that Ronald Reagan; this Ronald Reagan.
About three weeks ago, after Ron Jr. was criticizing Cheney and insisting Bush lied his way into the war in Iraq, I suggested the Dems arrange to have him speak at the DNC. Fortunately, that’s exactly what they’ve done.
In a move sure to embarrass Republicans, Ron Reagan will address the Democratic National Convention this month.
Reagan, son of former President Ronald Reagan and an outspoken critic of the Bush administration, will be on the podium the second night of the four-day event in Boston, July 27, in support of stem-cell research, he said yesterday in an interview in Los Angeles.
Reagan also insisted he would not attend the RNC’s tribute to his father this September and added, “The Republican Party now is not the Republican Party of my father.”
It’s difficult to make any kind of news at these political conventions, but speeches like this one should help generate some attention.
