It’d be fairly easy to just devote an entire blog to chronicling every crazy thing Alan Keyes says and does as he learns his way around Illinois. I’m not prepared to do that, but when items like this one come along, I can’t help but mention it.
Republican U.S. Senate candidate Alan Keyes declared Tuesday that Jesus, if he were able to vote in Illinois this year, would oppose Democrat Barack Obama because of votes Obama has cast in the state Senate against anti-abortion legislation.
“Christ would not vote for Barack Obama because Barack Obama has voted to behave in a way that it is inconceivable for Christ to have behaved,” Keyes said.
Somewhere, there are some Illinois Republican Party board members hanging their heads in shame.
Also, via Josh Marshall, Keyes was on a cable access news show on Monday when he called Obama a “socialist and a liar.” What a class act.
Update: Frederick Maryland notes that there is a blog devoted to Keyes’ ongoing lunacy. It’s called, appropriately enough, the “Truth About Keyes.” The site’s author will, no doubt, have plenty to do between now and November.
