Does Bush need a break already?

Far be it for Carpetbagger to begrudge someone for wanting to take a little break. But isn’t it a little odd the president won’t be in the White House this weekend?

It was announced today that Bush will be leaving DC in a few hours so he can spend the weekend at the presidential retreat, Camp David. I know there’s plenty of modern equipment at the retreat to keep the president informed on world events. Yet, with the war just having started, and “shock and awe” getting launched a couple of hours ago, perhaps the president would be sending a stronger message of control and authority by actually staying in the White House.

An administration official told the AP that Bush is leaving because his father went to Camp David on the first weekend of the first war in Iraq. Yeah, that’s a good reason.
