In the unlikely event you didn’t hear about this over the weekend, I’d like to encourage everyone to check out Jon Stewart’s appearance on CNN’s Crossfire from Friday. It was rude, tense, and beautiful.
The point of Stewart’s appearance had virtually nothing to do with his Emmy-award winning program or touting his new bestselling book. Stewart was on the show to tell its hosts that they’re awful and their show serves no valuable purpose.
“I made a special effort to come on the show today, because I have privately, amongst my friends and also in occasional newspapers and television shows, mentioned this show as being bad…. And I wanted to — I felt that that wasn’t fair and I should come here and tell you that I don’t — it’s not so much that it’s bad, as it’s hurting America.”
I’m pretty sure Stewart wasn’t kidding. But see for yourself. This fine site has posted the video for the entire interview online. Be sure to take a look.
