Looks like the news from Alabama is moving faster than expected.
Roy Moore’s colleagues on the Alabama Supreme Court announced this morning that they have directed the removal of the Ten Commandments monument, in compliance with a federal district court order.
Despite Moore’s insistence that he could ignore federal court orders with which he disagreed, the other eight justices in Montgomery voted unanimously to instruct the building manager of the state judicial building to “take all steps necessary to comply … as soon as practicable.”
The other justices, who, like Moore, were elected to their judicial positions, wrote that they are “bound by solemn oath to follow the law, whether they agree or disagree with it.”
Sounds like Moore’s monument may be gone pretty soon. I’ll let you know.
