Roy’s rock finds a new home

Well, that’s it. A moving crew came into the rotunda of the Alabama Judicial Building this morning and removed Roy Moore’s granite Ten Commandments display from the rotunda. Workers apparently were moving it to another private location within the building, though, at this point, I don’t know where.

With this development in mind, the hearing scheduled for this afternoon in which Moore’s minions were going to ask a different federal judge to keep the display in place has been cancelled.

I think, for the time being anyway, this one’s over.

Moore, however, still faces an uncertain future, with a hearing before Alabama’s Court of the Judiciary coming up. As I mentioned the other day, it’s possible the group will vote to remove Moore from the bench. We can only hope.

As my friend Barry Lynn said this morning, “Perhaps Roy Moore will soon leave the bench and move into the pulpit, which he seems better suited for.”
