A few items of note:
* The 4th of July, obviously, is tomorrow, which may have a discernable effect on my posting schedule. I still plan to keep a fairly normal schedule today, but tomorrow might be a little slower — because of one of the year’s slowest news days. One thing to look forward to, however, will be a special holiday post from my usual Saturday-contributor, whom I fondly call “Morbo,” who has written a special item to celebrate the day.
* As some readers have noticed, I occasionally chip in a guest post or two over at Crooks & Liars, but I’ll be over there today and tomorrow with several items of interest. (In keeping with the style of C&L, my guest posts will likely be short, quippy, link-based, and more Atrios-like, and less like the usual Carpetbagger fare. I figure, “When in Rome…”)
* Over the weekend, Mrs. Carpetbagger upgraded the site from an older version of WordPress to the new version. Readers shouldn’t notice anything different, but if you come across any bugs or problems, please let me know.
* In non-Carpetbagger news, Vermont-based readers are probably familiar with the “Daysie Awards,” published by the alt-weekly, Seven Days. My good friend Bill Simmon, of Candleblog fame, is in the running for Best Vermont Blog and I hope folks will take a minute to lend him some support. Voting is online here. (Organizers are looking for a specific url on the voting page, not just the name “Candleblog.” The specific url is: http://www.candleboy.com/candleblog/)
And now, back to the news….
