Update: In a truly comical turn of events, shortly after I posted this, the connection at the coffee shop died again. It just hasn’t been my day.

It’s Karl Rove’s October Surprise….
don’t get me started on routers. my piecashit Linksys totally died last month (after making it appear that something was wrong w/my Mac’s Airport wireless). then i got a Netgear DG834 and so far so good (and my Airport’s fine).

Linksys routers overheat with any type of load and stops responding.
Best SOHO/home router I’ve found is the D-Link DGL 4300. It also has the advantage of being the second highest performing router of its type (high throughput). It is a four port wired (10/100/1000) and WPA wireless 802.11g.

In Polish, it’s known as “the malice of inanimate objects” and quite a common occurence. Do you not have it in America?
