Another addition to Alan Keyes’ Greatest Hits

A month ago, we learned exactly what to expect from the would-be Republican senator from Illinois.

Declaring that his campaign strategy is dependent on controversy, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Alan Keyes told the state’s top GOP donors at a recent closed-door meeting that he plans to make “inflammatory” comments “every day, every week” until the election, according to several sources at the session.

Alas, even Keyes has found it tough to keep up an “every day” pace. I think he makes up for it by making jaw-dropping and insane remarks once a week, which presumably take the place of a run-of-the-mill crazy comment once a day.

Keyes was in rare form over the weekend.

U.S. Senate candidate Alan Keyes told a rally Saturday that incest was “inevitable” for children raised by gay couples because the children might not know both biological parents.

“If we do not know who the mother is, who the father is, without knowing all the brothers and sisters, incest becomes inevitable,” Keyes told the Marquette Park rally held to oppose same-sex marriages.

“Whether they mean it or not, that is what will happen. If you are masked from your knowing your biological parents, you are in danger of encountering brothers and sisters you have no knowledge of.”

If Keyes didn’t exist, we’d have to create him.
