The Wall Street Journal had an interesting news brief today about Clinton’s advice to Bush over international priorities upon leaving office.
When the two spoke privately at inauguration time, Clinton put al Qaeda at the top of his list of national-security concerns, with Iraq behind the Mideast, North Korea and India and Pakistan, according to one outsider who recently heard Clinton’s account. It is confirmed by several former Clinton aides from the time.
Sounds like pretty good advice at the time, doesn’t it?
But to remind everyone that perception and reality sometimes have nothing to do with one another, the WSJ added:
Bush backers revel in a new Harris poll showing slightly more blame Clinton than Bush for not doing more to prevent the 9/11 attacks.
Sigh.
