Bush isn’t above the law, he just outranks it

The very funny people at Fafblog put together a helpful Q & A with “Our Omnipotent President” that satirically makes several key points.

Q. How does a War Bill become a War Law?

A. It all begins with the president, who submits a bill to the president. If a majority of both the president and the president approve the bill, then it passes on to the president, who may veto it or sign it into law. And even then the president can override himself with a two-thirds vote. […]

Q. Is the president above the law?

A. Nobody’s above the law! As commander-in-chief the president just outranks the law.

It’s funny because it’s true. Or then again, maybe it’s painful because it’s true.

Thanks for the tip. It is hilarious.

  • OK CB you need to stop bugging the calls I have with my best friend. We were talking about this last night.

I actually got this one from Mrs. Carpetbagger, who was laughing out loud at it. Maybe she’s bugging your calls; she does work for the NSA…. oops, I’ve said too much.

  • A HA!!!!

    We knew it!!!!

Of course we also suspect that Ashcroft/Gonzales, Wiley of the Non-Sequitur comic, Aaron McGruder, and occasionally Stephan Pastis of Pearls Before Swine of bugging our calls.

  • Bush needs a special military style Unitary Presidential Commander in Chief El Supremo uniform to reflect his elevated view of the presidency.
Something with tassles, stars, combat decorations, and Rhenquist’s three gold stripes on one arm and an elephant armband on the other.

  • Ahhhhhhh!!!!! Mrs. CB, please, please, please stop bugging our phone conversations and emails!!

I have been discussing this for the past two days with friends and associates….

    it’s eerie….
