Bush loses to “pooch in a tutu”
I think it’s great that people call me to see if I’m okay if I haven’t posted anything in a few hours. It’s flattering. In any event, here’s something I found funny.
NBC and MSNBC advertised the heck out of Tom Brokaw’s “exclusive interview” with Bush, which the networks broadcasted last week. As the commercials kept reminding us, it was the “first one-on-one interview” Bush had done since the war.
The Washington Post’s TV column, however, noted today that the show wasn’t exactly a hit with the viewing public.
The interview “was beaten [in the ratings] Friday at 9 p.m. by a rerun of ABC’s ‘America’s Funniest Home Videos’ featuring a dog that could jump a fence to fetch a ball and a dancing pooch in a tutu,” the Post noted.
I know Bush’s approval ratings are still pretty high, but apparently not high enough to tear Americans away those home video repeats. I mean, really. We see Bush all the time, but how often can we watch poorly-recorded footage of dancing dogs?
