Election Day is officially tomorrow, but we’ve jumped out to an early lead

Isn’t early voting great?

* In Florida, 30% of registered voters said they already had cast their ballots, using early voting sites and absentee ballots. They supported Kerry 51% to 43%.

* In population-rich south Florida, a Miami Herald poll Sunday showed that among the 16% of voters who cast ballots early, Kerry drew 56%, compared with Bush, who received 39%.

* 27% of Iowa adults surveyed over the weekend said they had already voted. Kerry leads Bush, 52% to 41%, among that group of early-bird voters.

* In Nevada’s population-rich Clark County (home to Las Vegas), more than 86,000 people have voted early and almost 22,000 have sent in mail ballots. Democrats have about 2,300-voter lead when the totals are combined.
