Filling in for Morbo…

As Morbo mentioned last week, he’s in France this week and won’t be sharing his words of wisdom today. He will be returning for his usual stint next Saturday.

But never fear, I’ve found a very capable sub for today. Ed Stephan, whom you all know and love from the comments section, has graciously agreed to help out in Morbo’s absence.

For those of you not familiar with Ed, he’s a recently retired professor at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wa. He’s been involved in Dem politics for quite while, including having run some campaigns in California. (Ed, as some of you may also recall, did a terrific job filling in for me on June 10.)

Check back shortly for some terrific posts. Rumor has it, Ed is going to have some nifty graphs today, so you’ll definitely want to stick around and take a look.

Knock ’em dead, Ed!

  • Congratulations, Ed. A well deserved appointment.
I’m new to this site, maybe three weeks, so I
didn’t see your other guest postings, but I was
not at all surprised by CB’s selection.

Some good postings. I’ll be back for some comments.

  • When I first discovered Carpetbagger, I was struck by the quality and provocativeness of the content, and surprised at the small number of commenters. After being here for a short while, I’ve come to really appreciate the fact (from a purely selfish point of view) that it seems so little known. I feel like I can come here and have a conversation of substance with some lucid and often quite entertaining friends: CB himself, Ed, Morbo, Analytical Liberal, et al. I’m looking forward to the first Carpetbagger picnic where we can all get together and actually meet and converse in person.
