Give ’em hell, Harry

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid sat down with Rolling Stone for a fairly brief interview, but it generated this gem (via Taegan Goddard):

RS: You’ve called Bush a loser.

Reid: And a liar.

RS: You apologized for the loser comment.

Reid: But never for the liar, have I?

Have I mentioned lately how much I like Harry Reid?

Hooray for Harry! What a nice start to the day.

  • Harry Reid went on to say, “Nor have I apologized for calling him a twit, a moron, a thief, a self-centered bigot, a piece of putrescent corruption, or an evil black stain upon the moral history of this country and Western Civilization. That’s only because I haven’t articulated those thoughts in public yet. But they’re there.”

  • What deft use of language! Bringing up liar kept him on the offensive when even Rolling Stone was about to put him on the defensive. Way to go Reid.

  • Thank God someone said it!

Time (which is now history) has proven Bush consistently lies. If you watch him speak, when he lies, he has a lopsided smile/frown on his face. The bigger the lie, the more lopsided his expression. I tried to view the links on the White House web site (www.whitehouse.gov) to watch his speech to Congress and past State of the Union addresses, but hmmmmm, somehow the link to these speeches no longer works.

    Seems they found me out.

  • All of those speeches are still available at the White House Archives. You might like it that the Administration pulled them out of fear of your intelligence, but a wish is not a fact.

  • I love this guy’s style. He’s like what would happen if Howard Dean had been elected Senator instead of Governor. No wonder those guys get along so well.
