I wonder what they’ll talk about

Joe at AmericaBlog noted that White House Chief of Staff Andy Card was scheduled to do a state party fundraiser tonight, but had to cancel. The president needs his full attention.

A Rhode Island Republican Party fundraiser scheduled for tonight featuring Andrew H. Card, White House chief of staff, has been canceled because Card is spending the weekend with President Bush at the presidential retreat at Camp David, Patricia Morgan, Republican state chairwoman, said yesterday.

“All we know is that the White House called and said he had to be with the president,” Morgan said. “He needs to be at Camp David this weekend.”

Hmm, I wonder what they’ll talk about? As Joe put it, “Oh, to be a fly on the wall at Camp David this weekend.”

i guess it’s card’s turn to wipe bush’s ass.

  • I had heard–it might have been on Billmon’s site or Americablog–that Card has been attempting to wrest control from Rove given his recent discomfiture. Could this mean that he’s won with an indictment for Rove all but certain?

Of course, Billmon thought Card was in the same league as Doug “stupidest fucking guy on earth” Feith, which can’t be good news for Bush.

  • my guess is that they’re trying to figure out what to do about miers.

or when to announce the invasion of syria….

  • I have it from solidly anonymous sources on triple super duper secret background that Andy Card is the only one George will trust to hold his head while he throws up into a bucket. But you didn’t hear that from me. Sssshhhh……

  • George W. Bush is a man whose life before politics was
devoid of accomplishment. He skated through school on his
name. He had at least two failed businesses that I know of
that were bailed out by Bush family friends. His one business
success, the baseball team, was also handed to him by Bush
    family friends.

Bush, by his own admission, had a drinking problem. He is not
a man who handles criticism or adversity well.

One can only wonder if the slings and arrows for fortune and
mismanagement will drive G.W. back to the consolation of
    booze.
