Bush may continue to enjoy strong support in his adopted home state of Texas, but John Kerry has picked up an endorsement from Bush’s own mayor.
Crawford may be the heart of Bush country, but the town’s mayor says John Kerry is the best choice for president.
“I don’t see where I’m better off than I was four years ago,” Robert Campbell said Tuesday. “I don’t see where the city is any better off.”
As Tom Schaller noted yesterday:
So, you’d think that with all the time Bush spends on vacation in Crawford, the massive uptick in commerce just from sunscreen purchases by visiting pool journalists blinded by the hot, West Texas sun and the president’s rhetoric would be enough to make Crawford’s mayor gleeful about the proposition of another four years.
Apparently, not so much.
