If Zell Miller still wants to ‘tar and feather’ Kid Rock, here’s his chance

Kid Rock’s performance at this year’s Super Bowl half-time show infuriated Sen. Zell Miller (R-Ga.) so much, he used it on the Senate floor as an example of the nation’s “deficit of decency.”

“[T]he thing that yanked my chain the hardest was seeing that ignoramus with his pointed head stuck up through a hole he had cut in the flag of the United States of America, screaming about having ‘a bottle of scotch and watching lots of crotch.’ Think about that.

“This is the same flag that we pledge allegiance to. This is the flag that is draped over coffins of dead young uniformed warriors killed while protecting Kid Crock’s bony butt. He should be tarred and feathered, and ridden out of this country on a rail. Talk about a good reality show, there’s one for you.”

Well, as it turns out, both Miller and Kid Rock will be appearing at the same reality show later this month — the Republican National Convention.

As my friend Poppy noted this morning, Kid Rock will be bringing his “pointed head” and “bony butt” to New York to perform for his fellow Republican convention-goers this year. Apparently, GOP leaders were less offended than Miller by Rock’s decision to cut up the American flag and use it as a shirt in front of an international television audience.

I can only hope convention organizers have the good sense to schedule Miller’s speech for the same night as Kid Rock’s performance. That would be entertaining.
