I’m Tired of Being Patient

Guest Post by Zoe Kentucky

The LA Times has a nice play-by-play of the evolving Wilson/Plame/Libby/Rove scandal. Yeah, it’s very nice of them to remind us all why this scandal still matters, but frankly I’m getting a little tired of waiting. When is Fitzgerald going to make his move? When are we going to know who is going to be walking with a coat over their head and their hands in matching shiny metal bracelets? Or are we all going to end up with an acute case of cerebral blueballs?

Perhaps I’m being myopic considering that we’re all looking down the barrel of a shotgun loaded with bird flu. Still, it would be nice to know before we all die.

If Judith Miller does not talk, there’s no case. That’s evidently what Fitzgerald told the judge, in justifying sending Miller to jail.

When the Grand Jury expires (I think in November), Judith Miller walks, and Fitzgerald will issue a brief report, saying he really doesn’t know anything.

  • I am not sure anyone has the answer to this question, with the exception of Fitzgerald, his team, and the Grand Jury. However, Bush’s continued support for his deputy chief of staff has made me wonder at times if he doesn’t have some insider knowledge about the investigation. I would very much like to see this story cleared up once and for all, and the people who leaked Plame’s name held accountable. If no one is charged, I certainly don’t want to see Judith Miller held up as a martyr. Hopefully, Arianna has debunked Judy enough to spare us this outcome.

  • Bush has that ultra loyalty thing going on, so him standing by Rove doesn’t surprise me one bit.

I’m also not so sure about Miller being the clincher, she’s just one piece of the puzzle abig one yes, but still just one piece. I’m more of the opinion that Fitzgerald is like a dog with a bone and is just making sure he is being as thorough as he can be.

All of the news outlets have said all along that the investigation wouldn’t be concluded until mid to late October

  • I think the real truth in the Plame matter is Rush Limbaugh, in one of his drug induced states, was told by someone ( ROVE ) to spread the word around to crush Wilson, and when he came back to his sinces,Rush thought it was all a bad dream. My guess is ,Rush will be sentenced to another month in rehab, and everyone else will be given a metal of some kind by BUBBLEBOY,and the matter will be over.
