Low-down, conniving ‘Democrat Party’ plans to steal House seat by running candidate for it

Guest Post by Morbo

I’ve mentioned before that I set up a Hotmail address to receive e-mails from various kook right groups. These organizations always promise they won’t give your address to others, but of course they lie. One of them gave the address to the campaign of some nut named Bill Greene, who is running for Congress in Georgia. He regularly sends me urgent pleas for cash.

Greene, seeking the seat that opened up after Rep. Charles Norwood died, is running on an openly anti-immigrant platform and is not ashamed of his ties to the radical Minutemen group.

But sometimes bashing illegal aliens is not enough. In that case, thank God for Nancy Pelosi. The Greene campaign’s most recent message isn’t subtle: “Pelosi Democrats Trying To Steal Republican House Seat — Help Now!” it blares. It came with a photo of the speaker that is less than flattering.

I know candidate fund-raising messages can be hyperbolic, but this one struck me as a tad insane, even for a candidate who is clearly missing some of his frontal lobe. The Democrats are coalescing behind a candidate for this seat because, even though it is a conservative district, they’d like to have it. This means they are trying to steal the seat?

Oh, that Democrat Party! How low will they go?

The message goes on to point out that Democratic leaders are rallying around a candidate named James Marlow. Marlow worked for Yahoo and apparently has been using his own money to finance his campaign, which is not at all unusual (or illegal) these days. He is also a moderate Democrat whose views might appeal to conservative voters in the district.

Can you believe that? The Democrats found a candidate with money and whose views might attract the voters — and now they are backing his attempt to win office! How dare they?

It gets worse.

Evil bloggers are actually supporting Marlow’s effort! (Gasp.) These bloggers are writing good things about him, in the hope that people will support Marlow. Good God, will no one think of the children?

It appears to be a conspiracy. Greene’s message reads: “The district chair of the Democrat Party has put out an alert, letting the ‘faithful’ know that they’re starting a major voter registration drive in the most liberal areas, as well as a big drive to get volunteers for phone banks, etc. They are serious about sneaking in and taking away this seat from conservative Republicans — which means WE need to be serious about keeping it in conservative hands!”

So now those damn Democrats are registering voters and targeting those already registered. Plus, they actually plan to communicate with these folks and even urge them to vote on the day of the election? My god, have they no shame?

Just so Greene is clear on this, here is a definition of the word “steal” from an online dictionary: “To take without the owner’s consent.” The “Republic Party” does not own Norwood’s seat. Any other party has the right to try to get it.

There are examples of stolen elections in America. For example, losing the popular vote and then getting your brother, partisan election officials and the Supreme Court to halt a recount and summarily put your candidate in office — that would be stealing an election. But surely no political party would stoop that low, right?

Let me translate this for you:

“The district chair of the [African-American] Party has put out an alert, letting the [African-Americans] know that [African-Americans are] starting a major [African-American] voter registration drive in the most [African-American] areas, as well as a big drive to get volunteers for phone banks, etc. They are serious about sneaking in and taking away this seat [and our women and cars] from [Caucasians] — which means [CAUCASIANS] need to be serious about keeping it in [Caucasian] hands!”

Bet you a hundred dollars.

  • What’s worse is that the Democrats intend to use democracy to steal the seat! The horror!

You know, I don’t have a problem with anyone being a Republican and getting elected to office. I do have immense problems with folks cut from the Bush/ Greene/ Rove/ Cornyn/ Santorum, etc., etc. cloth getting into public office. Go Marlow!

  • Surely, the Democrats’ attempt to steal a republican seat must be illegal. Perhaps the Justice Department could look into it and do something.

    🙁

  • Mommy, Mommy! Johnny want’s to play with me and I don’t want to play with him! It’s just not fair, Mommy! Make him stop!

It’s tragic what has happened to the “daddy party…”

  • My hubby had a great idea to counter the Rs improper use of the word “Democrat” as an adjective. Every time an R does so, a Dem should say “It’s interesting that the other side is so interested in making English the official language of the United States when they don’t even speak it correctly. I’m referring of course to their improper use of the word “Democrat” as an adjective. Even small school children learn that one needs to add an -ic in this case.”

    Or something to that effect.

    I don’t think of them as the,’Daddy Party’, any more. These days they come off as resembling the, Deus Ex Machina Party or even the Jesus Ex Machina Party.instead. They, the Yuppie/Boomer generation members at the top of the pyramid, continually repudiate their Daddys and have spent their whole lives trying to get out from under the shadow of their parents almost larger than life visage while getting their noses rubbed in shit by their parents these last 40 years with, “We won OUR war. A real war, WW2. What’s your generation done, Junior? Got screwed up on the dope, lost Viet Nam and now you’re up Iraq without a paddle and sending her to the poor house. You’re nothing compared to us… We… The Greatest Generation.” {Insert here the admonishment to,’Quake with fear you tiny ants’.}

A good example is how quickly the White House turned-down any of the suggestions from the (headed by WW2-gen Unka Jimmy3) Iraq Study Group. What Unka Jimmy should have done was hand-off the report to Meg Wurmser or Kagan to present to the Fool on the Hill and let Dumbya think (??? I know, wha ???) … think it came from AEI or the Hudson Institute. It might have been implemented if they had. But I digress.

Suffice to say that the people in DC, currently running things and staffing the WH, are those few who couldn’t get laid in college back in the 60’s and didn’t fight in Nam, didn’t go to Woodstock but instead occupied their youth being, “Serious” and playing, “Let’s Pretend”-Politics, with the Young Repiglicans. Now they tried to make their mark on the world through conquest and failed. Again. So, they’ve decided to make their marks with infamy instead. And they hope the fundies are right and Gawd will come and save them all because these people can’t save themselves. I’m surprised none of them drowned in a rainstorm. Standing there. Looking up, incredulously. Their mouth wide open. Wondering what all the wet was.

    FWIW…
