For all of the enormous differences between Barack Obama and John McCain, running second are the differences between John McCain and himself.
It’s a little long for TV, but with a little snip here and there, this would make quite an ad.

The Double-Talk Express.
If History is any teacher, then she is not on the side of The Terrible-Tempered Mr. Bang when it comes to Indecision 2008.
(Or is he? Perish the thought!)
Great compare and contrast, but yes, it needs to be edited down a bit.
Just let John McCain debate himself on primetime. No need for Obama to waste his time on town hall meetings or debates.
Wow, that’s great stuff. As I’ve suggested before, McCain made a big mistake by not embracing the only sensible position he had available: To argue that he’s the competent version of Bush and that he’s the guy people thought they were voting for in 2000 and 2004. That’s a pretty lousy pitch to make, but it was the only one he had. Now he looks even more like a flip-flopper who will say anything to get elected.
Plus, he’s running on Obama’s turf and making Obama’s job easier. If both of them are arguing that Bush caused big problems, then Obama’s the guy you’d turn to, not McCain the Enabler.
Why edit it down? Obama has a huge war-chest and McCain has flip-flopped on essentially every issue. Why not go the Perot route and do something like this for a full 30 minute campaign spot in prime-time? Maybe the night before the Republican convention to really step on his message and image?
Or better, make a DVD “McCain v McCain” and mail it to every household. That might actually be cheaper than buying 30 mins. of air time.
Actually, they need to edit it up. Taking everything that could be thrown at Senator McSelf-Destruct and putting it into one large package could net a complete miniseries. Remember those things? Endless commercials with the occasional ten-minute segment of actual teledrama? ABC could do it. They did The Winds of War, followed by War and Remembrance—and now they can finish the trilogy with War Without End. There’s got to be at least seven or eight weekly episodes in it, lasting a couple hours apiece. Let’s get them to run it on Monday nights. It could run from Labor Day and right up to the night before the election—and it’s probably got enough commercial airspace built into it to be worth—oh, let’s say, a sweet half-billion dollars or so.
Whaddaya say, ABC? You want to be a hero, rescue the Republic, and make lots of money at the same time?
Why not go the Perot route and do something like this for a full 30 minute campaign spot in prime-time?
Because very few people will actually sit and watch that. Better to spend that money on a host of 30-second or one-minute ads and sprinkle them through he programming they actually do watch.
Jed is making some awesome videos. You should suggest the edit to him.
McCain should google himself. He might be surprised by whaqt he finds.
Let’s see McCain do this! Or Bush for that matter!
McCain is such an irritating speaker especially when you know he’s lying and you watch him try to cover it up. Such a condescending authoritarian with a phony smile who’s made more appearances on TV before the campaigns started than nearly anybody in the republican leadership…almost twice as many. The press may be his base but even they can’t hide that phony personality…my friends.
Sunday talk show appearances by McCain 1997-2006….135 times. Only Biden even came close with 97 appearances.
Mention of McCain’s name vs Hillary Clinton in 2006 in all news media:
McCain= 33,683 Clinton=24,288
“They (the Politico) even brought my mom flowers” One week you got David Gregory dancing on stage with Rove and the next week interviewing him professing to be fair and balanced. Throwing barbecues for the press??? Are they trying to marry his relavtives and then come back and talk about how they are great investigative journalists.
Still the press cannot hide what a dunce McCain is on every issue as long as he continues to make public appearances. He whines, “Why would Obama want to repeat over and over that I am Bush’s third term?…” Because you are and everyone knows it. “Just because something is true doesn’t mean you have to “believe” it is true”…McCain’s logic. Liars you can trust.
OK – On one video he said that he strongly disagrees with the assertion that he has been more “at odds” than “in agreement” with Bush
The second video – He states that he doesn’t agree with the Bush administation on every issue.
So, he twice stated that he does not fully agree with the Bush administration on every issue. Groundbreaking stuff here. Great work.
Remember folks; he wanted to be in the media. He wanted the media to have access to him whenever possible. He is the guy who routinely gives favors from the telecoms. And now, to quote rev. Wright, those chickens have come home to roost.
One famous blogger or pundit said that McCain still thinks and acts like this is 1990, before the Internet age. He still thinks that no one will check the tapes and call him out on his lies.
The Main Stream Media (MSM) kiss asses will cover his ass, but we the blogosphere, especially the Afrosphere are kicking his ass.
He has provided the gas by which he burns himself. It’s not our fault we have the matches.
