A few random notes to share.
* As you may have heard, [tag]Glenn Greenwald[/tag], of [tag]Unclaimed Territory[/tag] fame, has a new book coming out, “[tag]How Would a Patriot Act[/tag]? Defending American Values from a President Run Amok.” It won’t be out for a couple of weeks, but because so many of us in the blogosphere know and appreciate the quality of Glenn’s excellent work, the book reached #1 on Amazon.com yesterday, and is still there this morning.
As Glenn explained yesterday, “This book is a pure blogosphere book. The book’s ideas and arguments were developed almost exclusively as a result of writing this blog. The research was done primarily by blog readers who worked with me on the book, and I discovered many of the arguments and much of the evidence that comprise the book as a result of reading comments here as well as the posts of other bloggers.” I’d encourage readers to order a copy. It’s a bargain at any price, but it’s just $7.20 with a pre-order. I’ve ordered my copy and I hope you’ll do the same.
* I noticed something really cool yesterday. It’s not unusual for me to look around and find another blog that linked to one of my posts, but it is unusual to find another blog that mentioned one of the Carpetbagger commenters. Yesterday, this blog highlighted a perceptive comment from our very own Rian Mueller. I think it’s terrific that people aren’t just enjoying my posts — they’re enjoying your insights as well.
* And, finally, I’d like to thank David at Technorati for helping me fix my Technorati profile. Apparently, Technorati had two entries in their database for my site — one with www and one without — which caused some trouble. David graciously (and quickly) fixed the glitch. I’ve always enjoyed and relied on Technorati, but in light of this great “customer service,” I now hold the site in even higher regard.
And now, back to the news….
