Ohio and Florida

As I write this, Ohio is showing 64% of the precincts reporting, with Bush up 4% — 52-48. That’s the bad news. The good news, according to The American Prospect’s Nick Confessore, is that Kerry has “run up huge numbers in Ohio that are not yet reflected in the count — and that’s why the Republicans are engaging in scorched-earth challenges at the eleventh hour.” We can only hope that’s right.

And, as of this moment, Florida is showing 97% of the precincts reporting, with Bush up 5% — 52-47. Again, Confessore, who tends to be pretty reliable, says South Florida’s numbers — where Kerry has the strongest support — “are not reflected in the totals we’re seeing on TV.”

In other words, stay tuned.
