Guest Post by Morbo
Just a quick programming note: Next week I will be in Paris, so I will not be posting on Saturday, July 9. While in Paris, I hope to pick up some great new ideas about how best to annoy the right wing, from the country that seems to have made it into an art form.
Look for more rants on July 16. In preparation for that, please take a few moments to read this 1787 letter from Thomas Jefferson to his nephew, Peter Carr (written while Jefferson was in Paris).
On July 16, I’ll be commenting on this letter and offering some reflections on how it relates to the contemporary political situation.
For now I say, “Au revoir!”
(Editor’s note: We’ll miss Morbo next Saturday, but my plan is to have another guest poster or two offer some words of wisdom next weekend, so don’t think you can just take a Saturday off without checking in. — CB)
