There were plenty of heroes on 9/11 — Kerik wasn’t one of them

MSNBC, allegedly the network that’s interested in moving to the left, reported this morning on the 16-count indictment brought against Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani’s close associate. The network showed viewers this on-screen headline:

“9/11 Hero Indicted”

Look, there were a lot of heroes in New York City on 9/11, but if there’s any evidence at all of Kerik’s heroism, it’s hiding well.

In fact, Josh Marshall reminds us of just how great a “9/11 hero” Kerik really was.

For instance, you know of course that Kerik took the apartment donated by a wealthy real estate developer as a place for 9/11 relief workers to rest and used it as his own personal love shack to boff celeb book editor Judith Regan. That of course was before the other city employee he was doing there left a love note that Regan found. But did you know that after Regan bailed on him she had to get protection because Kerik was apparently stalking her and her kids? Great guy.

“Hero” isn’t the first word that comes to mind. What on earth is MSNBC thinking?

I think it’s pretty obvious – if Kerik’s not a hero, then maybe Rudy isn’t either. If Kerik is a person of questionable character, maybe Rudy is, too.

These people can’t even get Rudy’s record right, for crying out loud – what would make anyone think they could get this right?

Besides, reporting in some objective way – like calling him “Former NYC Police Commish” – might get in the way of this Rudy-as-hero-worship that’s taken over.

  • You certainly won’t see William Rodriquez on MSNBC. He is a real 9/11 Hero.

Of course, Willie Rodriquez’s story is a threat to the Corporate Military Industrial Complex, whereas Rudolf W. Giuliani is a solid bitch-boy of the establishment.

  • I’m sure they also think Rudy was a hero on 9/11 even though everyone knows he got a lot of firemen killed through his stupidity and cronyism.

The media could care less what the truth is, they have a story to tell.

  • From CB’s “Thursday’s Mini-Report:”

“NBC’s Today show managed to do a report on Bernie Kerik’s pending indictment without mentioning Rudy Giuliani to viewers at all. That’s amazing.”

I’m not sure, but I think I’m starting to see a pattern here….

  • used it as his own personal love shack to boff celeb book editor Judith Regan.

Ah, God, that Josh Marshall is such a bad boy.

CB, apparently any right-wing jackass middle-aged white male who worked in some kind of cop-job, or in an ex-cop consulting position, or as a firefighter or an EMT during 9/11 is automatically a hero.

  • You don’t even have to have done shit to have been a hero on 9/11. If you merely were a Republican, Irish, had a mustache, were over 35, and were sitting in an apartment somewhere in New York jerking off to some (heterosexual) XXX rated videos while the Twin Towers fell, someone will think up something you did that made you a hero on 9/11.

    Guaranteed.

  • Ghouliani was for Kerik before he was against him. Note to “Massively Stupid Nitwit Broadcasting Cartel”—you’re going the wrong way with this one. Even by Ghouliani standards….

  • We’re all heroes on 9/11! Even George Bush, for reading My Pet Goat, is a hero. That was very heroic how he turned lilly white, then looked back at the children’s book, finished reading it, and then scampered away to an undisclosed location, from which he didn’t say shit for hours.

That maneuver was so good, there are still some suckers in America who love him for it!
