Tony Blair to appear on The Simpsons

Finally, a chance to write about two of my favorite topics at the same time: politics and The Simpsons.

The BBC is reporting that British Prime Minister Tony Blair, a long-time fan of the show, recorded three lines of dialog this week for an upcoming episode. Apparently, he will be appearing on the show as himself.

As the BBC suggested, Blair will be seen giving “tourism tips” to the Simpsons family while they’re visiting England.

As a fan of the show, I can think of some pretty famous guest stars that have appeared over the last 15 years, but all of them came from the entertainment industry. Never, ever, did I think I’d see a British Prime Minister on The Simpsons.

I’ve always liked Blair, but this is taking my admiration to a new level.
