Voting is nearly complete

Some of you have been kind enough to vote for The Carpetbagger Report in the 2007 Weblog Awards, and we’re now in second place. How about one last push?

This time, I’ll make it really easy for you. I learned by way of Tim F. that we can embed the voting right into the site. It couldn’t be easier — just register your vote right here. It takes two seconds.

Thanks for your support. Just a reminder — readers can vote once a day in each category. Polls close Thursday (tomorrow) at 5:00 p.m. EST.

Done for today.

Don’t neglect to remind us again tomorrow.

  • I dont know that we can catch TBogg, but it was a pleasant surprise to go to Google News and at the very top see this:

  • Looked at TBogg site since I thought I might be missing something good. I did not like it. So can’t fathom why they had more votes than CarpetBaggerReport. Maybe more relatives voting?

  • Tbogg has a large community of readers. These weblog awards reward sites with large communities of people who have a lot of free time on their hands. The larger your community, the more votes you can drum up on a daily basis, the higher you rank. They’re just a popularity contest.

I like Tbogg well enough, but it’s mostly a humor/snark site – funny occasionally but not on my “must read every day” list. This site is actually one of the better sources of political news commentary I’ve run across, and it gets checked daily. Thanks Steve – voting for you in the weblog awards is literally the least I can do – I really need to remember to budget some money for a donation.

  • It ain’t working…all I get today is server busy. Even went to archives to get link and vote again but got same thing. Server Busy or not responding.

  • Not who, but what…”the hell is Israel Matsav!”. See if you can discern a theme from this comment.

Shalom, Carl! You did a fabulous job of annihilating every ridiculous argument raised against the modern-day rebirth of Israel. I’m an evangelical Christian and lead the Israel Prayer Group at the international nonprofit organization Focus on the Family (family.org). Our prayer group has been bringing in special speakers from Israel to educate our co-workers about what’s truly going on. And this past February, we were privileged to host Josh Reinstein of the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus for a breakfast, a talk at another local Israel Prayer Group, and some meetings with interested staff members. I’ve loved and supported Israel since I was a child, and will do so to the end of my life. Many blessings…Carol

I.M. may be in the same category but I don’t think TCR and I.M. are pulling from the same pool of readers.
