Voting is still underway

Just a reminder, I still need a small, effortless favor from readers. It literally only takes a few seconds.

The Carpetbagger Report has been nominated in the 2007 Weblog Awards. If readers could click on this link and vote, I’d appreciate it. People can vote once a day, so even if you voted yesterday — and many thanks to those of you who did — you can still vote again today.

It’s easy and harmless. You don’t need to register, or accept cookies, or give an email address or anything. Just click on the link, register your vote, and you’re done. No muss, no fuss.

Time is running out; the winners will be announced on Thursday. Head on over; it takes no time at all. Thanks.

I take my vote seriously.

The Carpetbagger Report barely registers in the polls but I can tell that there is a dedicated and passionate group of followers.

I don’t know if The Carpetbagger Report can measure up to establishment candidates like DailyKos and I don’t want to throw my vote away.

Besides, I don’t even know what kind of haircut Steve has or how broad his shoulders are or how the guy smells…

But I guess it’s better that The Carpetbagger Report win instead of the likes of redstate.com –that would be a disaster.

  • The Carpetbagger Report barely registers in the polls but I can tell that there is a dedicated and passionate group of followers.

Well, maybe if the guy didn’t keep his poll so busted that there are about 100 repeated listings ahead of CBR. So CBR is basically 100 slots lower on the poll than it should be, and the dick doing the poll is going to do nothing about it because he’s basically fine with people thinking CBR is 100 places less popular than it is. What a cad.

  • Carpetbagger isn’t up against Redstate, so no worries there JKap – Redstate will probably win their category.

Carpetbagger IS up against Tbogg. Tbogg has a large community for the size of blog it is – I’d be surprised if Tbogg didn’t win.

But this whole award is a joke anyway. It’s worse than an internet poll in many ways. It’s basically a popularity contest held among people with too much time on their hands. I mean, take a look at the nominess for “Best Blog” – by what objective metric could most of those even be considered “good blogs” let alone the best on the net?

Anyway, despite my loathing of rigged internet awards, I went ahead and cast a ballot for you Steve.

  • Alright, as CB reveals here in comments, there are actually about 120 repreated listings in the so-called ‘top 250 blogs’!

Pretty screwed-up poll, if you ask me. Like, a communist-Russia-style poll.

I say vote everyday and tell everyone about how the poll is f***ed so peopl know the number don’t count for anything. If people knew CB was in the top 250, more people would vote for him and maybe he’d get a really high ranking. David Schraub and his co-bloggers (if any) are a bunch of scumbags.

  • Whatever.
The people who read CB know how valuable his judgement is and the quality of his insight. The fact that his traffic is continually increasing speaks more about the quality of his blog than any award.

  • The CBR is my favorite blog. If Steve thinks that voting for CBR will give it a boost, then let’s vote for it. I just did.
