When Fox News disparages its own viewers

It’s one thing for the reality-based community to cast aspersions on Fox News viewers; it’s another when the Republican network ridicules its own audience.

For those of you who can’t watch online video clips, I posted a quick transcipt after the jump.

This is Simpsons creator Matt Groening on The Daily Show. Referencing an episode in which the show mocked Fox News with a news crawl intended to ridicule the network’s partisanship, Groening explained:

“We’ve gotten in trouble for attack Fox. We had an episode in which we had Fox News — you know the little news crawl? And that was one of our favorite moments.

“‘Albert Einstein + Brad Pitt = Dick Cheney’ … ‘Rupert Murdoch: Terrific Dancer.

“We have been forbidden from doing that again, because the Fox viewer might confuse our cartoon with actual news.”

News Corp. said it; not me.

I saw that episode the other night. It was hilarious, as most Simpsons episodes are. And, like South Park, full of relevant social commentary.

  • I keep saying that Duhbya’s brain is like a black hole. It pulls in the brains of anyone who gets within its magnetic range and sucks that brain into Duhbya’s intellectual void.

That is why the Bushies are doing more and more excruciatingly Duhmb things.
